New Death Cab for Cutie track: Meet Me On The Equinox

dcfcnewmoonsingleartA new Death Cab for Cutie song entitled ‘Meet Me On The Equinox’ has been released, and will be featured on the New Moon soundtrack, the second movie in the Twilight Film saga based on the hit book series by Stephanie Meyer.  The film is set to hit the silver screen November 20th.  Frontman, Ben Gibbard, admitted to MTV news that he hadn’t read ALL the books in the series, but feels the song fits the mood of the film, even though it was written about his personal experiences:

“The song at its core is just about meeting another halfway, because life is very short, because there’s only a brief period of time to really connect with people, and that it’s important to recognize that,” he said (of course, for Edward and his kind, life isn’t that short). “I just wanted something that kind of tonally matched the story and the scenes within the film, so they could kind of be put alongside but not be telling a narrative you’re watching on the screen.”
